Help Chia recover from a vicious dog attack!

Story

Our world was turned upside down when our gorgeous Chia was viciously attacked at our local dog park. The owner of the dog that attacked little Chia cannot contribute to her surgery or ongoing recovery vet bills. Hi my name is Emma and I’m putting this gofundme together for my brother Sam & his partner Stella’s dog Chia. Chia was innocently helping herself to a drink of water when the attack happened. Thankyou to those who were at the local dog park that helped immediately rescue Chia out of the other dog’s jaws and rushed her to the 24/7 Animal Emergency Centre. Chia underwent life saving surgery and stayed overnight. During her stay they performed various tests; xray, ultrasounds. Chia was discharged with a drain inserted, fentanyl patch and multiple stitches. She continues to be monitored 24/7 whilst we are still navigating this awful shock to our family. Chia’s son Clifford was also at the dog park and witnessed the vicious attack, he continues to be by her side. Chia will likely require behavioural therapy for the trauma and it will be difficult re-training her to trust other dogs again after such a blind vicious attack whilst innocently having a drink of water. I’ve never owned a pet in my life until these two gentle souls were introduced to our family. Google and our local Vet have become my best tools in this recovery journey: what colour should dogs vomit be, how long can a dog go for without peeing & pooping, how to take care of stitches and a drain, how to wrap bandages and change gauze? Our family & Sam & Stella’s housemates have dropped absolutely everything for the care of Chia & Clifford.
