Help Cherry Bomb Toys Bounce Back

Cherry Bomb Toys is an amazing toy store located in Downtown Victoria, and is also home to the National Toy Museum of Canada. Owners Candice and B are wonderful members of the community, and have helped give back to the local victoria community in many ways through the years.


I have been involved in events run by Cherry Bomb Toys for about six years now, being a vendor at almost every toy show since 2013, being an exhibitor at Capital City Comic Con, as well as attending The Nerdy Days of Christmas. I support this business and the people who run it wholeheartedly, which is why I was devastated to hear that they were having issues with their building due to a nearby fire. Thankfully, their building was not on fire, but there is still a potential for structural damage from the water, smoke damage, and potential loss of their merchandise from smoke damage. They have to keep their business closed from now until an undetermined time in the future when it is safe to reopen. They also live in the same building as their store, so not only is their business and livelihood at stake, so is their home.


This business and toy museum, as well as this family, are a rarity, and I would hate for them to be unable to bounce back from this. For these reasons, I am reaching out to my local community and asking for help. I am seeking donations (preferably cash, but I am also planning an online auction) so I can present them with something when I go down to Victoria for the next Toy Fair on May 25th. I am not telling Candice or B about this until I present them with the donations because they are lovely humans and will likely try to convince me to donate the money elsewhere.
