Help Cheri’s fight with Breast Cancer

Dear family, friends and new connections,

It has been tough for Cheri to share the news that at 38 years old, she was diagnosed with Stage IIa Breast Cancer. At first, there were no lymph nodes or lymphatic tissues that were seen to be involved so she was scheduled for her mastectomy surgery with planned radiation to follow. Then, during the double mastectomy surgery the surgeon found that the cancer had spread to her sentinel and axillary lymph nodes. They removed a total of 14 nodes. This not only put her at risk for lymphedema but it also put chemotherapy into our immediate plan of action. Cheri also developed cording in her left arm that requires addition physical therapy to help her regain her range of motion. Cheri is now beginning several months of a robust chemo treatment plan followed by radiation that will go into mid-year 2023. Once that is completed she will have a resting period before finishing her reconstruction.

From Cheri: As a wife, a mother of three (amazing & strong) children and an artist it has been overwhelming to think about the future for my family, myself and my artistry. This journey has not only affected my family emotionally but also financially. I am a fighter and I am determined to get past this and that is why I am reaching out to all of you for your help during this healing journey.
