Meet Cheeks!

Cheeks is a beautiful 6 month old kitten that was sadly born with a stricture in his oesophagus, this means he is only able to eat a liquid diet due to larger molecules of food not being able to fit through. Sadly, if cheeks tries to eat any solid food he will swiftly bring it straight back up as there is just no room for it to go down into his stomach. His fosterer has been doing a grand job of syringe feeding him a liquid diet to get him up to weight to undergo surgery. Unfortunately for cheeks he hates his syringe feeds as he desperately wants to be a normal kitten and eat his own solid food - biscuit being his preference. Sadly as this is a specialist surgery it is coming in very costly. We have been quoted £1000 for him to undergo the procedure which we just don’t have the funds for. Sadly if cheeks doesn’t get the surgery he needs then it becomes a matter of quality of life as he cannot be syringe fed his whole life. Not only does syringe feeding him cause him a great deal of stress as he doesn’t like the food there is always a high risk of aspiration pneumonia. We would be very grateful for any donations received to go towards his life saving surgery.
