Charlie Brown's leg amputation
My name is Megan and I'm reaching out with a heavy but hopeful heart to ask for help for my sweet boy, Charlie Brown.
Charlie is my 8-year-old cocker spaniel with the kindest soul and a heart full of love. He’s not just a dog—he’s my best friend, my comfort, and a true fighter. Charlie was once a service dog in training, and though life had other plans for his career, he’s spent every day since showing the same loyalty, devotion, and care to everyone around him.
Over the past few years, Charlie has undergone two CCL (cranial cruciate ligament) repairs—major surgeries that he fought through with courage and grace. But despite our best efforts, his health has taken a turn. He’s now been diagnosed with Degenerative Joint Disease, and our vets suspect bone cancer and cysts in one of his back legs. The pain has become too much for him, and after careful consultation with his veterinary team, we’ve made the heartbreaking but necessary decision to proceed with a leg amputation.
This is not a decision we take lightly, but it offers Charlie his best shot at a pain-free life—a chance to wag his tail, chase the cats and his bunny, and enjoy gentle walks again without suffering.
The cost of the surgery, aftercare, pain management, and follow-up care is overwhelming. That’s why I’m reaching out to our community—to those who know what it means to love a dog like family.
We’re hoping to raise $2200 to cover Charlie’s amputation and recovery. Every single donation, no matter the size, helps us move one step closer to giving Charlie the comfort and second chance he deserves. If you’re unable to donate, simply sharing this campaign means the world to us.
Charlie has given me—and so many others—his whole heart. Please help me give him the healing he needs.
With love and gratitude,
Megan & Charlie Brown
Included is the current rough estimate. To be updated on Monday with an exact cost. His X-rays and SOAPS. And a few pictures so you can see what a happy boy he is. We just need a little help to have it done in a timely manner and prevent the risk of metastisizing.
