Help Charlene Invest In Monster Cleaning!

Donation protected
My name is Andrea Massey and I had the pleasure of meeting Charlene Munford seven years ago at Fardowner’s in Crozet. I didn’t know my bartender would become one of my closest friends. I saw her grow from the coolest bartender I knew to an amazing mom, and now, an entrepreneur! I’ve also grown along with her and I love the journey we’ve been on as friends. She started her cleaning business, Monster Cleaning literally overnight because Covid-19 changed her living situation for her and her son, River. As a single mom, she had to quickly figure out how to make the same income as she did as a bartender to support them both. Her love for her son led her to name her cleaning business after his self-proclaimed nickname, “River Monster”, and his love of Godzilla.

Charlene needs help reinvesting in her new cleaning business. She needs insurance to hire three new full-time employees and money to purchase a work vehicle. Her Jeep has been her sole mode of transportation for the last seven months and she has had to resort to cramming all of her equipment in with her son’s car seat. Sometimes her son, River, has to hold some of her cleaning supplies just to get to the next job. She also wants to invest in a fogger that will be used to spray sanitizer to combat the Covid virus on the job site.

90% of Charlene’s clients are word-of-mouth or regulars from bartending. Monster Cleaning is starting to grow rapidly and she needs help! She needs to hire employees quickly to keep up with demand but she doesn’t have the capital to insure her business after paying the bills and taking care of River.

Charlene’s business could be a great contribution to the community for two reasons:

  1. Black females are hard to come by in the business spectrum of Charlottesville. This is an area that needs to be supported and encouraged! The Black Lives Matter movement and the August 12th atrocity have shown us that we need to stand up and help the black members of our community succeed and excel and this is the perfect opportunity to do just that.

2.Charlene’s business model is sustainable. Covid has ensured that everyone is thinking about cleanliness and sanitation. Help Charlottesville stay clean and safe from Covid-19 by investing in Charlene and Monster Cleaning.

This is a terrifying time to start a new venture but the Charlottesville community is amazing at rising to the occasion and supporting its citizens. Your financial contribution will ensure the success of Charlene and her business.

Thank you for your support. Please SHARE this post to your timeline so we can get Charlene and River to where they need to be.
