<div>Hi friends, my name is Erica and I am currently volunteering at the <strong>Msamaria <em>("Samaritan") </em>Centre for Street Children</strong> in <strong>Moshi, Tanzania</strong><a href="https://msamariakids.org/)." target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">.</a> The centre is a safe haven for around 80 children, majority of which were rescued from the streets. They come from tough backgrounds, ranging from extreme poverty to being orphaned to abusive family situations.

<div>The centre helps provide these kids with basic needs such as food, education and shelter. However, the centre is<strong> purely donor-run</strong>, and I have noticed that this one in particular has significantly less funding compared to other similar centres in the area. I am now asking for your help to save these children from the unfortunate situations they were born into.

<div><strong>What the donations will be used for</strong>
</div>
<div>I am aiming to raise at least £7,000 to be used for:
</div>
<ul>
<li><strong>Water: </strong>their supply was recently cut off after failing to pay their bill
</li>
<li><strong>Food:</strong> the kids eat mainly rice and diluted oatmeal, which do not have enough nutritional content for growing children
</li>
<li><strong>Dining tables: </strong>they currently sit on the floor to eat
</li>
<li><strong>Tuition fees for local schools: </strong>there are 3 kids without sponsors for the school year and have paused their schooling (the parents of 2 kids passed in 2023)
</li>
</ul>
<div>Any excess raised will be used for:
</div>
<ul>
<li>Food beyond rice and beans
</li>
<li>Additional school uniforms and clothing
</li>
<li>Safekeeping in case of any donation shortfalls in the future
</li>

<div>I will personally oversee the spending of the funds on the ground and send updates to the donors. I will also ensure that every £1 donated goes straight to the kids by covering all bank and admin charges. In addition, yours truly will hike to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro (at my own expense) to support the cause.
