Bonjour Friends & Family!
In October 2017, I was lucky enough to embark of a trek to build a school in rural Haiti with 7 friends from NYC. We spent a year fundraising and preparing for an experience that touched and changed each of our lives. The community that accepted us into their homes, lives, and hearts has changed the 8 of us for the better, forever.
After returning from Haiti, we knew this wouldn't be our last school built. This October 2018, we are going to replicate our efforts with 20+ people in Senegal, Africa!
Why Senegal, you might ask?
The literacy rate in Senegal is 56%. With women/girls, averaging 43.8% That is less than half! Many of these women were denied the right to education as children, which brings them to a significant lower average than men.
Our mission is to ensure that everyone in Senegal has the opportunity to rise above their circumstance and receive the quality education they deserve! And, each school comes with a promise to send their daughters in equal numbers as their sons!
I invite you to help us raise the funds necessary to build a school from the ground up, side-by-side with the local villagers in one of the poorest countries on the planet. We will be bringing hope through education with the help and guidance of the amazing organization, BuildOn.
What are we fundraising for?
100% of the money raised goes to the construction of the school and to cover the costs of the coordination, translators, food for the builders (us and those helping) and transportation. Extra money raised over our goal will go towards the next BuildOn school!
Total Cost for Senegal School: $30,000
Adult Literacy Program: $5,000
Trek Fees: $13,500
This time around, my best friend & boyfriend, Alex Macht, will be joining me and the amazing group that will be transforming a small piece of this world. We would be so grateful if you could help us get there!

I would like to personally thank every person who helped and supported me in my trek to Haiti this past October. Your contibution is shown in the the smiles of the amazing villagers who are now family to us. Here are a few photos from the impactful, life altering trek we took Haiti. The smiles, joy and hope from the villagers made the experience 100x more impactful than what we could have ever imagined!
