Help Chance walk again - (IVDD Surgery)
Donation protected
On January 15 at 7 am my 4-year-old mini dachshund Chance was having trouble breathing prompting a visit to the emergency vet. By 1 pm we came to the diagnosis of Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) and his back legs were no longer functioning by this point.
Without surgery, and the longer we wait, the longer he will be in a position of never walking again and or potentially passing away.
Chance has been my emotional support animal and has brought joy to many since he was a little pup. This dog has loved on me through my PTSD episodes and has given me a reason to rise in the morning since they day he was given to me.
I would like to make sure that his healing journey is as robust as possible to serve as a huge ‘thank you’ because he deserves it.
He is currently taking medication to reduce swelling around his spine and manage pain while resting and moving as little as possible. Using the restroom isn’t a task that he can do without assistance and he is not eating or drinking much either.
I’ll keep you all updated and we would like to thank you in advance
