Help Cesar Sanchez pursue his Ph.D.

Donation protected

My name is Cesar Sanchez and I'm from Maracaibo, Venezuela. I graduated as an Electrical Engineer from Universidad Simon Bolivar (Venezuela). Last spring I was admitted to the Ph.D. program in the Electrical and Computer Engineering at Texas Tech University (USA). To be able to take my spot, I need your help.

Over the last three years, I have been a Master’s Degree Student in Electrical Engineering at U.S.B, with a cumulative GPA of 4.7/5. I was an Instructor in the Electrical Machinery Laboratory for the undergrad studies for Electrical Engineers and Electrical Technicians, and I also was the instructor of Electrical Drives for Mechanical Engineering.

During my studies, I developed an increasing interest in R&D in the Electrical Engineering area, so after learning that I was admitted, my dream of becoming a Ph.D. started taking shape.

Initially, the idea was to get to Texas this fall, however, due to the worldwide lockdown, I wasn’t able to collect all the necessary requirements to get there in time. So my only option was to register for online classes for this term. My performance has been excellent, and I’m currently aiming for the highest note and GPA.

However, I can not continue the online classes. Before the next term starts (Spring 2021), I need to be in Texas, which presents the following issues:

· There is no US embassy in Venezuela (because of the political situation) where I can obtain the Visa. Therefore have to get to Bogota, Colombia which is the nearest Embassy.

·     Both Venezuelan and Colombian borders are closed.

·     The gas shortage in Venezuela makes it very difficult (and expensive) to travel inside Venezuela by car, and there are no other available options.

·     There are no flights from or to Venezuela.

Once I arrive to Texas, i will be hired either as a Research or Teaching Assistant by the university. And this means that T.T.U. will cover the out of state tuition fees, in the form of an Excellence Scholarship.

I need your help to be able to afford the following traveling costs and the initial tuition fees:

Total Tuition: € 2930
Total Fees: € 1670
Combined travel costs: € 1400

Thank you for supporting my dream by either donating or sharing the link!!.
