Help Cerbando support family after parents' deaths

We are a group of high school teachers with Cincinnati Public Schools from Cincinnati, Ohio writing on behalf of a very deserving young student, Cerbando.
Cerbando is going through a very challenging time in his young life. After his mother passed away, he made the difficult decision to travel from his home country of Guatemala to the United States in search of a better life. He arrived in Ohio last summer hoping to continue his education and find work to support his father and four siblings who remained in Guatemala.
Last week, Cerbando’s father unexpectedly passed away. This leaves Cerbando, who recently turned 17 years old, as the sole provider for his family. He is now responsible for his father’s funeral expenses, which total approximately $3000 USD. As the oldest of his siblings, he is also now responsible for the care and support of his four siblings, ages 6, 8, 10, and 12. His siblings are temporarily in the care of a family friend in Guatemala, but this is not a permanent situation. Cerbando is now trying to attend school full-time, work to make enough money to support himself, and work to make enough money to send back home to support his siblings until he can be with them again.
Since enrolling in school here, Cerbando has proven himself to be a promising student. He is a hardworking and respectable young man with a profound sense of duty, who prides himself on improving his English language skills and his plans for graduation. Now, Cerbando is worried he will need to stop studying all together and start working additional jobs in order to pay for his father’s funeral expenses and adequately support his siblings.
Please consider donating to help Cerbando support himself and his family. All donations will be used to pay for his father's funeral expenses. Any remaining donations will be sent to Cerbando's siblings to support their basic needs, such as food, clothing, and housing. One of Cerbando's bilingual teachers, Lisa Cahill Munoz, will withdraw and distribute the donations to Cerbando in person and as needed.
