Help Cathy keep DA HOUSE open!!

Hey everyone, I hope you are all staying well and safe during these trying times. As everyone is so well aware, this pandemic has been an extremely tough time for everyone in so many ways, and it has really impacted small business. From being completely shut down for so many months, to opening to just a fraction of the people who could normally support a business, it has made it impossible for many to stay afloat. While there has been some governmental assistance, that certainly didn’t last forever, while the pandemic has continued to cause businesses to struggle. Our own Zumba in da House is no exception. While some people have come back to dance since the studio reopened, for each person's personal reasons, many have not. Without consistent income, it will be impossible to keep the doors open for much longer.

For those who are unaware, Cathy has been a big supporter of many different causes. She has used her classes to raise money for heart and stroke, Terry Fox, autism, local house fires and various people in financial crisis, the food bank, a fundraiser for children in Guatemala and she has supported breast cancer research. This is very personal, as she is a survivor herself. Throughout the pandemic, Cathy offered free online videos so that we could remain active, which was very generous of her.

Each year she is nominated for several business excellence awards in Bradford. In 2016, she won a very well deserved award for her outstanding support to the community.

Now is the time for us to give back to Cathy, who has given so much to all of us. Let’s help her to raise the money to keep this place that we all love so much open throughout this crisis time, so that we will all have a place to dance together again when each of us feels comfortable enough to do so. If everyone on this list could donate at least $10, we would be able to help Cathy with her rent payments for the next few months. I know that I personally spend that much money each day on very expensive specialty drinks that aren’t so good for me, and I would much rather spend that money to support a business and person who does so much for me personally, and for so many others!! Maybe you are someone who dances with Cathy now, maybe you did previously, maybe you are a family member or friend, or maybe you are someone who has never met her but who is touched by her daily posts of love and inspiration. Please, let’s all reach in and support Cathy the way she continues to support us!
