Hi there, I’m Anna! I’m trying to raise funds for my mom, Cathy, to help her get a portable oxygen concentrator. My mom was diagnosed with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension last year, a potentially terminal illness. It has left her dependent on oxygen, leaving her mostly house/apartment bound due to needing a higher flow of oxygen than when she was originally diagnosed. This has put a strain on my mom’s already stressful life.
My mom has worked hard over the years taking care of myself growing up, my dad when he battled cancer, has been there for many friends and family when needed, and more. After losing my dad to cancer in 2019, she hadn’t been able to enjoy much of her retirement due to the pandemic and a depression that kept her mostly bedridden, something she did not like to share with family to not burden them. Over the past couple of years, she has been able to battle that depression, begin physical therapy to become stronger, and enjoy herself more in an assisted living facility with friends in her community. Unfortunately, with her new diagnosis, her oxygen needs have increased and new medical issues have come up. The opportunity for her to have a portable concentrator that would fit her oxygen needs (4L) without having to bring large tanks that only last an hour or two would allow her to get back out into the community, help her do the things she needs to do, and enjoy life more.
We would never ask for help normally, but we are unfortunately facing some personal financial obstacles and are both not financially strong at this point in time, and time is very precious to us right now. We know times are tough for all of us, so anything will help and would be greatly appreciated if possible. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! - ❤️ Anna
