<div>I am seeking support for someone very inspiring who needs help. Caryl, one of my oldest and closest friends, has endured so much whilst battling an autoimmune disease leading to liver cirrhosis.

<div>For Caryl, a liver transplant was the only option for her to survive, but the reality of securing one was very uncertain. Her health deteriorated quickly, leading to countless hospital admissions, organ failures, surgeries, and moments of desperation. There were times when we feared the worst, waiting for a suitable donor. It’s been unbelievably hard for Caryl and her amazing family.

<div>Finally, the call came, and Caryl received her new lease on life through a liver transplant. This has been a huge relief, but the road ahead is still a long one. In her recovery it is critical that Caryl does all she can for her body to accept her new liver and return to a healthy life, one that we all dream of for her.

<div>Caryl has finally been discharged on the basis that she can stay local to her transplant hospital in North London (The Royal Free). Having been unable to work for the past two years, having a young daughter relying on her strength and love, and regular hospital visits ahead, there are massive financial challenges. Rent in this part of London is extortionate.

<div>The funds we raise will relieve some of the burden of accommodation, travel, childcare, and daily living expenses during this critical phase of Caryl's recovery. I am working off the basis of giving Caryl a minimal salary equivalent (London living wage, 27k) to support her year-long recovery with no income. Let’s start off by raising enough for 6 months.
