My name is Carolina, and I’m a parent of five children who have been facing constant harassment and hardship due to a false police report filed by a state trooper. This situation has made it nearly impossible for me to keep my job as a Personal Care Assistant, since local law enforcement has discouraged clients from hiring me. The stress and financial strain have only grown over the years, and I’m now struggling with legal battles, the cost of moving, and the loss of income. On top of everything, I was recently in a car accident, which has added to our challenges.

This harassment has been ongoing since 2018, and it’s affected every part of our lives. My kids are scared to fall asleep at night, and we’ve lost pets due to unsafe conditions in our neighborhood. Even simple things like driving have become dangerous, with cars trying to run us off the road. I’ve made police reports and tried to document what’s happening, but nothing changes. The constant stress has made it hard to provide stability and care for my children, and our food assistance keeps getting cut, making it even harder to get by.

Despite all this, my kids remain resilient. My oldest graduated high school with honors, participated in ROTC, and earned every certificate she could. My other children have faced bullying but continue to carry themselves with respect and manners. They just want a safe place to live, to finish high school, and to pursue their dreams.
