Early this morning, while she was sleeping, my dear friend Carmen Zelaya Marinsik received a code red alert to evacuate the area due to the wild fires in Santa Rosa, California. She didn’t have much time. She grabbed her son Andres, her dogs Astra and Luna, her purse and took off to safety.
They lost everything in the fire. Their new house and all of their belongings. I was devastated when I heard the news. I’ve known Carmen since before Andres was born.
I’ve set up this GoFundMe so that Carmen and her family can get back on their feet. She has to start from zero. I know she’s strong and I’m sure she’ll rise from the ashes like the Phoenix but she needs our help!
