1 Hurricane, several seasons and through the holidays my cousin Carmen has and will be living in hospitals, barely leaving the side of her oldest son, Miguel. She has been out of work which has left her in desperate financial situations, not paying her car loan, living out her security deposit and having no money for gas to get to the hospital. Carmen has been a single mom for over 30 years providing love and care for both her boys. Miguel has been struggling with pneumonia and cannot eat. At 30 years old, 5 ft 4" he is currently weighing 72 lbs. The doctors are unable to perform the surgery needed to give him a feeding tube. He is malnutrition and Carmen can't leave his side.
