<div>Yesterday, my brother-in-law Carl Solarek passed away very unexpectedly. It was a typical Sunday morning for Carl, my sister and two sons. Morning church services followed by breakfast, a little shopping and a couple errands. Upon arrival home, Carl went upstairs to put away his morning purchases when he was struck with a massive heart attack. My sister started CPR, the paramedics arriving shortly afterwards. They worked on Carl for over a half an hour, but nothing would restart his heart. By now, too much time had passed, Carl had left us. In that moment, my sister became a widow, losing her best friend and husband of over 28 years, her two sons losing their dad. I arrived to find my sister broken, the boys in shock, his mother in disbelief. A typical beautiful Sunday had turned dark, trying to accept the events of the afternoon. Today, I wanted to do something to try to help with the stress of the unknown. Everything is an unknown now, there are no more typical days, at least not for a very long time. I'm asking for help to alleviate some of the financial burden that goes along with a loss such as this. She has a thousand things on her mind, so many things to do, I'm hoping this will at least make her worry less about this part of loss so she can concentrate on all the rest.
