Hello my name is Candice, I’m 32 and last summer was life changing for me and my family. I one morning woke up for work and couldn’t move my feet or legs, my left arm was also affected after being rushed to the er through ambulance they determined i needed to go to a different hospital for specialists, I was diagnosed with guillan barre syndrome where it attacks the nerves in the body. I spent 11 days in the hospital not being able to move and went through so many different procedures, they found that a medication that would have to go into an iv would help but for 5 days I was getting these medications I had to be watched by a doctor because it was potent they didn’t know how it would affect me. My life changed after this dramatically, I had to be transferred to a rehabilitation facility where I spent almost a month there relearning how to walk and do basic things for myself like showering and basic hygiene. When I got home my job was waiting for me but I was let go because of my needs were to much. I’m asking for help only because I’m still far behind I have to go to therapy 3 times a week still have to walk with a cane and can’t pick things up with my left hand so working is hard, I did apply for ssi but with everything with the government right now I haven’t heard back yet and my family is struggling with bills, my husband works but with one income it’s so hard to keep up with things.
