Help Candice Fund the Break This House Tour

In less than three months my sophomore novel, Break This House , will be out nationwide and I have a vision for how i want to intro the story of Yaminah Okar to this world. Long story short, I have some big plans that I’ve been dreaming about for a long time and, right now, I’m kicking it all into gear: I am currently organizing a 3-4 city in-person tour (LA, BK, PHILLY, & potentially one other TBD) in which I will be collaborating with black visual arts who center home, housing, and sustainability in there work to bring this story to life.

I will be putting this tour together with the help and support of the artists, booksellers, and cultural spaces whose missions align with the spirit of this book. And all of it costs. From transportation/meals for each city to the collaborators to the materials needed to make it all legit it’s going to require extra hands to make this tour as expansive as I see it being in my head.

i want to be in the same room with you and exchange energy, resources, this journey. most of all i want to celebrate, something i still haven’t done properly since the release of my first novel Every Body Looking. with all due respect, i can’t imagine doing all of this shit exclusively on virtual platforms again and i don’t want to. i wrote Break This House for my people so i desire to be with my people when it comes out.
