<div><strong>I am facing a pretty major orthopedic surgery that is going to have me down for 6-12 weeks and I am humbly asking my village to come around me again</strong>. For many people, this would be easier because they might have a partner who can help, and they don’t have complicating issues. For me, being non-weight-bearing and pulling myself around with crutches, and a walker is very uncomfortable and painful. My arthritis is screaming at me. And all my other muscles are taking up more of the load and having to move an awkward ways. May you never have severe arthritic pain… and then have to be non-weight-bearing!

<div>I also want you to know that well financial help is great, there are many other ways that I will need support in the coming weeks. Read on for more details..

<div><strong> it’s been a hard year for Ryan and I.  </strong>Then<strong> </strong>In May, Ryan had a serious accident that splintered his talus and required surgery. It too was an extensive recovery, and he was unable to bear weight. He lived with me for over three months and was unable to work. It took a hit for both of our finances, even with financial support through disability... But we made it through. And thankfully, he’s doing much better.

<div>in December, his cat became very ill and almost died, and even with insurance it cost a couple thousand more. We took out a zero interest credit card and are working on paying that off and then this happened.
</div>

<div> I was playing with Matty in the garage on Christmas Day, I just made a simple move and I ruptured completely to hamstring tendons. The only way for repair is surgery, and it’s a long recovery with a long time on a walker or crutches and extensive  rehab. Already I have spent over $1000 in co-pays in medical expenses. I also had to buy expensive items to help in my recovery and rehabilitation. I have to pay a dog walker to walk my dog, and my son is incurring extra expenses by being here and driving across the bridge all the time. And now I’m looking at six months of physical therapy at $55 a visit… Yikes! No matter what we’ll figure it out though.

<div>As many of you know, I don’t work full-time because I’m partially disabled from cancer. It makes it extra hard to recover. But I know we are all struggling to pay off bills and get ready for taxes, so I want you to know there are many other ways to help other than financially. You can pray, visit, bring a meal, pick up the phone, send me something funny, anything that comes to mind for you. I also have a helping calendar at my lifeline.org, link is below. I will need meals, riots, and some other things along the way. I will be nonweightbearing and unable to drive at least until mid March.

<div>There’s not a lot there right now because I see the doctor on February 4 and I will learn more about what my abilities will be over the next four-six weeks.
