Help Cami Beat Cancer

"We still need a financial miracle to pay for this, and thank God I just started a new job to offset a small portion of the bills." Cami

Who is Cami?

Cami is one of my best friends.  If you met her, you would be greeted with a smile and the best hug you've ever had. You would feel her warmth and care for you as she learns about you and your family. She would listen intently as you talk about your family and cook you her famous Brazilian dishes.  She is the type of person who always looks out for you and is constantly looking for ways to serve and love.

Cami is always positive and never complains. She always finds ways to reach out and care for others whether it's serving backstage at church, sharing her talents on the worship team, welcoming new neighbors, loving her husband and young son, writing songs, walking her dog, blogging, and so much more. She is secretly competitive  (just don't take her camping!)

Cami needs our help! For the second time in two years, Cami has received the news she has cancer. The first time, carcinoma was on her thyroid, which she had fully removed in 2016. This time, the metastasized mass in on lymph nodes on the right side of her neck.

As Cami told me the news, I became misty eyed and a lump formed in my throat. I know that she is extremely independent and never asks for help. When she reached out her upcoming surgery, I knew this was a big deal.

Her surgery was this last week Monday and she says:

"Praise be to God. I cannot express how blessed Aaron and I feel with the constant outpouring of love from our family and Friends. The peace in my spirit as I went in for surgery derived I have no doubt, from the constant prayers every one of you were sending up to the Throne Room, despite the difficulty to get an IV going in pre-op.

In the aftermath, I have a drain on my neck for the next few days. The incision is of course very sore, and the right side of neck and jawline, skin above right collarbone and right ear are all numb due to nerves being moved around during the operation. This numbness is very uncomfortable, and should take a while to fade away.

Pathology reports should be in in a few days and will reveal for sure how many nodules were removed. What I know for now is that all of the lymphatic tissue was removed, along with two "skin tags" on the same right side of my neck, which had recently become painful.

The recovery road is only just beginning, so I hope I can keep counting on your prayers.

Once again, thank you for the prayers and love, and may all glory be to God."
