Help Caleb Read

Imagine sitting at your desk and watching the teacher write on the board, but instead of words you see random combinations of letters that make absolutely no sense. Or, imagine the frustration of driving down the highway and having no idea what the signs around you say. Such is the case for my younger brother. Many times I have heard him say things like “I’ll never learn how to read” and “I can see all the letters, but they don't make sense when you put them together.”

Caleb is 11 years old and will be in 6th grade this year. He currently reads on a 1st grade level. After years of suffering through many very difficult and unpleasant situations at school, he was finally evaluated by a specialist. Caleb was diagnosed with dyslexia, which means his mind doesn’t work like most people's minds do. Reading is hard work for him. As a result, he is behind in several other subjects too.

This year Caleb will attend The Janus School so he can finally get some specialized learning help. http://thejanusschool.org/beta/ As you can imagine, this school is expensive.
