Help Caitlin Beat Cancer!

UPDATE:

In October of 2017, Caitlin was diagnosed with stage 3, triple negative breast cancer. What was initially thought to be a cyst turned out to be an invasive and fast growing cancer. In the past 14 months, Caitlin has endured multiple rounds of chemotherapy, a double mastectomy, and radiation. She has been tirelessly searching for the best form of treatment and has done a lot to inform herself about this rare form of cancer. In October she was able to visit the Mayo clinic for a consult and she is now working with a new oncologist in the Atlanta area. Unfortunately, a recent scan has shown that the cancer has reappeared.  In the coming months, Caitlin will continue a course of chemotherapy. Her doctor’s goal is to keep the tumors small and prevent them from spreading.

With the continuation of treatment and doctor visits, Caitlin’s expenses continue to grow. She is also currently seeking help from a holistic doctor whose recommendations coincide with her oncologists treatment plan.  The additional treatment will help keep her body strong as she deals with an undetermined period of chemotherapy, but unfortunately it will have to all be paid out of pocket.

Throughout this past year, Caitlin has carried herself with amazing strength and determination. From rock climbing in New York to killing it in her local gym she has been able to maintain her strength and a very positive spirit. She has continued to work during this whole time as well, providing not only an amazing classroom for her fourth grade students, but also leading the robotics team at her school, and running a non-profit program for local families in need. Those of you who know Caitlin, know that she will always give to other before herself.
