Hello, my name is Luke Grzan and I currently attend Young Harris College with a big heart and an even bigger mission. I’m excited to share that I will be traveling to Guatemala for a one-week mission trip this year in May through Christ The Shepherd Lutheran Church (https://cts.org), partnering with the nonprofit organization Porch De Solomon (https://porchdesalomon.org). Our goal is to make a meaningful impact by helping families in need by building new homes that provide safety, stability, and hope.
This trip is more than just a journey—it’s a chance to give back to communities that face daily challenges, and I believe that every home we build brings a little more light into someone’s life. This Mission trip will not only affect the people I help, but myself in many ways. Visiting Guatemala would give me a new perspective by showing me a way of life that’s different from what I’m used to in the U.S., from the culture to the economic conditions. Seeing these differences firsthand will make me more appreciative of what I have while also helping me understand the challenges and resilience of people in another part of the world. This mission trip will also show the true love of God to people that may not have heard of it before, by our words or by our actions.
However, missions like these require a community effort, and that’s why I’m reaching out for your support. Your generous donations will go directly toward travel expenses, building materials, food, housing, donations, and other essential costs to help ensure our project’s success.
I truly appreciate any contribution you can make, whether it’s a donation or simply sharing this fundraiser with your family and friends. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of families in Guatemala and create an effect of hope and renewal.
Thank you for joining me on this journey and for supporting a cause that’s close to my heart.
