<div>Wayland has been incarcerated since 1997 while maintaining his innocence in a case that remains active in the appellate courts. During his incarceration, he became a prison justice organizer, advocating against systemic abuse and retaliation inside the prison system.

<div>Earlier this year, Wayland was denied parole because of his organizing work. Despite this setback, he remains committed to continuing the work.

<div>This fundraiser supports three essential needs:

<div>a) building a nonprofit infrastructure

<div>b) sustaining basic survival inside prison
</div>
<div>c) organizing a parole campaign that challenges retaliation against Wayland.

<div>Coalition X is an abolitionist, organization in formation. To operate legitimately and build long-term impact, Coalition X wants to establish nonprofit status.
