Help build a safe place for our Mom

Our mom Pam Selby is a breast cancer survivor, and because of this we are blessed.  It’s been over 20 years, and the effects of the treatments she received have now become life altering.
Scarred lungs from the radiation have left her requiring oxygen and a BiPap ventilator to breathe at night.  She has psoriatic arthritis so severe sshe now requires a walker at all times. 
Since moving to Eugene she has suffered multiple bouts of cellulitis requiring hospitalization; the latest causing blood poisoning.  Several other serious surgeries took place at a local hospital and 2 ambulance transports to OHSU for emergency procedures and surgery that required a specialized surgical team and follow-up appointments in Portland.  Our dad is retired but still working to keep medical benefits for himself. He is now on unpaid FMLA to care for mom.  Dad very well might not ever be able to return to work as mom now needs lots of assistance with daily living. Pam is on full disability now, but prior to receiving disability, medical bills totaling almost $500,000.00 wiped out their savings with co-pays, deductibles and non-covered treatments and supplies.
The urgent need is help to cover some of the costs of immediate remodeling of mom’s bedroom and bathroom.  She cannot get her walker safely through a narrow doorway even with the door removed.  She also needs a shower she can get into with her walker as well as grab bars for the toilet area. If possible mom would like to find a way to remove the many transitions in the different flooring materials within the house as each is a trip and fall hazard.  We just want our mom to feel safe / and be able to stay in her own home with her husband of 30+ years.  Any gift would remind them that there are angels everywhere.
