<div>Help Build a Library for Maasai Children in Tanzania
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>A few years ago, I helped build a small children’s library in Nicaragua.
</div>
<div>It started with a handful of books… and grew into a place where kids gathered every day to read, dream, and imagine bigger futures.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Now I’ve been given the chance to do it again — this time in a Maasai village in Tanzania.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Last week my friend in Naiyobi village sent me photos of the children holding the books I purchased for them.
</div>
<div>They were beaming — proudly lifting the books over their heads like treasures.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>But here’s the problem…
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>They don’t have a library yet.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Right now, their books are stored in boxes and carried from place to place. The village has started building a simple concrete block structure that will become their first real library — a safe, dry space where children can sit, read, and learn after school.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>They just need help finishing it.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>To complete the building — roofing, doors, windows, shelves, and basic furnishings — they need:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>$5,748
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>That’s it.
</div>
<div>Not millions.
</div>
<div>Just enough to finish the walls and fill the room with possibility.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>And when I heard that number, I thought:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We can do this.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If:
</div>
<div>   •   100 people give $50
</div>
<div>or
</div>
<div>   •   50 people give $100
</div>
<div>or
</div>
<div>   •   lots of small gifts add up
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>…this library becomes real.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Why this matters
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>These children walk miles to school.
</div>
<div>Books are scarce.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>A library means:
</div>
<div> literacy
</div>
<div> homework help
</div>
<div> a safe after-school space
</div>
<div> opportunity
</div>
<div> pride in their own community
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It’s not just a building — it’s a doorway.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I’ve seen firsthand what a small library can do for a village. It changes everything.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>How your donation helps
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Every dollar goes directly to:
</div>
<div>   •   finishing construction
</div>
<div>   •   shelves &amp; tables
</div>
<div>   •   books
</div>
<div>   •   basic furnishings
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My trusted Maasai friend oversees the project locally and sends regular updates and photos, and I’ll share every step with you here.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Total goal: $5,748
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you’ve ever loved a library…
</div>
<div>If you believe every child deserves books…
</div>
<div>If you want to be part of something small but powerful…
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please consider donating or sharing this page.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Together, we can build one little room full of stories — and change a lot of lives.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>With gratitude,
</div>
<div>Debbie ❤️
