Help build a family home in Haiti

Nene is from Haiti and has worked as gardener for us in the Dominican Republic for a number of years. He is an amazing outgoing and friendly person but as with practically all Haitian immigriants to the DR has been finding life particularyly tough lately. Over the years we have done our best to help legalize his staus here and have got him a passport and work visa which we have to renew every year as permanent residency is almost impossible to get. Unfotunatley due to the immigration issues he was forced to send his family back to Haiti and we began helping to fund a house build on some family land. Unfortunately the process has been slow and recently his family suffered the nightmare of a fire in their rented accommodation, luckily they are all OK but have lost all their possesions and are now sleeping on the floor at his mothers already cramped home. We would like to get the home he has started building finished and furnished so that they can move back in and enjoy some dignity again. We have been supporting the build as best we can but as it is now urgent, we are looking for support from the amazing community around us.
