Help BTTR to replace stolen equipment

Op woensdag 12 juni 2019 keerde ik uit Chicago terug. Na de landing op Zaventem, nam ik de IC-trein 3633 richting Gent om van daaruit verder naar Brugge te reizen. Tussen de haltes Brussel-Centraal en Brussel-Zuid merkte ik dat mijn rugzak/fototas die zich in het bagagerek boven mij bevond, was verdwenen. Een zoekactie in de trein heeft niets opgeleverd. Volgens de treinbegeleider en de spoorwegpolitie is op de as Brussel-Noord / Brussel-Zuid een bende gauwdieven actief. De politie heeft me ondertussen laten weten dat de trein waarin ik me bevond niet over camerabeelden beschikt. Inhoud van de rugzak op enkele persoonlijke spullen na: een full frame fotocamera Nikon, lichtsterke telelens  Sigma 70-200, lichtsterke lens Tamron 28-75, vaste lens Nikon 50 mm f1.8 en een computer Macbook Pro. Behalve de kostbare inhoud van de computer is Back To The Roots dus ook voor duizenden euro's aan materiaal kwijt. Wij zijn een bescheiden vzw die het moet hebben van vrijwilligerswerk en beschikken niet over de middelen om in 1-2-3 al dat kostbare gestolen materiaal te vervangen. We willen echter de blues blijven promoten en ons tijdschrift op dezelfde professionele manier blijven uitgeven. Daarom vragen we nu de hulp van jullie allemaal: de artiesten voor wie BTTR tot hiertoe al iets heeft betekend, platenlabels, organisatoren, abonnees, sympathisanten, vrienden, bluesfans en al wie ons wil steunen om deze klap te boven te komen. Veel kleine donaties kunnen samen een groot verschil maken.

On Wednesday June 12, 2019, I returned from Chicago to Belgium. After landing at Brussels airport, I took the 3633 IC train to Ghent to travel further from there to Bruges. Between the Brussels Central and Brussels South stops, I noticed that my backpack / photo bag that was in the luggage rack above me had disappeared. A search on the train has yielded nothing. According to the train supervisor and the railway police, a gang of thieves is active on the Brussels-North / Brussels-South axis. In the meantime, the police have informed me that the train I was in does not have camera recordings. Content of the backpack apart from a few personal items: a full-frame Nikon camera, bright telephoto lens Sigma 70-200, bright lens Tamron 28-75, fix lens Nikon 50 mm f1.8 and a Macbook Pro computer. In addition to the valuable content of the computer, Back To The Roots has also lost thousands of euros in material. We are a modest non-profit organization that has to work with volunteering only and we don't have the means to replace all that precious stolen material in 1-2-3. However, we want to continue to promote the blues and continue to publish our magazine in the same professional way. That is why we are asking now for the help of all of you: the artists for whom Back To The Roots magazine has already meant something so far, record labels, promotors, booking agency's, subscribers, sympathizers, friends, blues fans in general and anyone who wants to support us to overcome this huge setback. Many small donations together can make a big difference.
