Help BSA Build A New Website

Donation protected
Brooklyn Supported Agriculture has finally found a permanent home! After years of searching, we're happily settled into our new Bed-Stuy location, where we're building our very own micro food hub. We love getting incredible, sustainable foods from local farmers to folks in our communities. And we’re proud to be a Black-led, worker-owned co-operative. We believe that delicious, nourishing food is a right, and we aim to see that right realized for as many people as possible.

We’re asking for your support to help us grow!

What We Need
Sourcing and distributing food from a variety of local growers takes a lot of coordination. We’ve been so lucky to have customers and supporters who have helped us develop our website and inventory systems up to this point, but our web infrastructure is no longer adequate to the volume and variety of work that we do. With our new home, and with the ambition to provide more food to more people, we’re excited for a website that matches the scope and purpose of our aspirations!

A new website will allow us to expand our sliding scale options and make our food even more accessible. Our customers and clients will be able to manage their own orders and subscriptions to ensure that they can get exactly what they want, when they want it. We will be able to track and maintain our inventory more effectively. And without the hassles and workarounds of our existing website, we will be able to focus on what we’re good at: sourcing and distributing incredible food!

Your support is vital to building a local food system that does not rely on worker exploitation. We want to prove the viability of the worker cooperative model in an otherwise notoriously exploitative food industry.

For all these reasons and more, we are thrilled to partner with CoLab Cooperative to help us reach our goals! CoLab is a fellow worker-owned co-op that designs and builds websites for projects like ours, and they have generously offered to create our new website at a 10% discount! All of your donations will go directly towards paying CoLab Cooperative to make a website for us! This is the solidarity economy in action!

Message from CoLab Cooperative
We are an internationally worker-owned design and development firm that co-creates simple, purposeful, and mission-driven technology to serve cooperatives and social impact organizations. We believe in using digital tools for good and we are honored to partner with Brooklyn Packers for their website upgrades. We are inspired by their democratic model of making healthy food accessible. Thank you for your support of their cooperative and ours. By donating to Brooklyn Packers, you are having a real and positive impact toward justice!

Who We Are
Brooklyn Packers is a worker-owned, Black-led food sourcing, packing, and distribution cooperative. We form a conduit between farms and the city, building Brooklyn food sovereignty. As anti-capitalists under capitalism, we organize to make, and be a part of, a solidarity economy. To this end, we guarantee worker-owners the same salary and equal company voting rights; we buy from small, sustainable food businesses in our local economy, with a preference for cooperatives and women / LGBTQIA+ / POC-owned farms; and we facilitate community access to our products by only charging for our labor (i.e. we never mark up food). In addition to Brooklyn Supported Agriculture, Brooklyn Packers handles bulk food acquisition, packaging, and transport for like-minded clients.
