Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
Our beloved Bernese Mountain Dog, Bruno, recently underwent a life-saving emergency surgery for Gastric Dilatation-Volvulus (GDV). This was an intensive and invasive procedure that came out of nowhere, turning our lives upside down. We are so grateful Bruno made it through surgery and is now home, but his recovery journey is just beginning.
The costs for his surgery, aftercare, and ongoing medical needs are overwhelming. His bills have already reached $3,000 CAD and are expected to grow due to follow-up vet visits, medications, and the special diet required for his recovery. Unfortunately, because Bruno was visiting family overseas when this happened and didn’t have travel insurance, our pet insurance denied the claim, leaving us to bear the full financial burden.
As students, we are doing everything we can to ensure Bruno gets the care he needs, but this unexpected expense is beyond what we can manage alone. That’s why we’re turning to our community for support during this challenging time.
Bruno is more than just a pet—he’s a member of our family, a source of joy, and a loyal companion. For those who have met him, you know what a sweet and loving dog he is. He deserves every chance to recover fully and live his happiest life.
This holiday season, we humbly ask for your help in any way you can—whether it’s donating, sharing this campaign, or sending love and encouragement our way. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a huge difference and means the world to us and Bruno.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being part of Bruno’s recovery journey. Together, we can help him get back on his paws!
With love and gratitude,
Bruno's family
