Help Bruno get the training he DESPERATELY needs

My name is Ashley O'Neill and I am an independent rescuer. I was recently contacted by a fellow rescuer to help a dog named Bruno who has recently been surrendered to me. Please read/share his story and consider donating, so that I can get him the help he desperately needs. Your support and generosity are greatly appreciated.

Bruno's owner was recently admitted into the hospital after attempting to take his life. Bruno was left in his home for 2 weeks alone while family members came by to let him out and feed him. I was contacted by his owner's sister who informed me that Bruno's owner was looking to have someone watch him until he was healthy enough to come home. After several weeks, and a lot of consideration on Bruno's owners' part, he felt it was best if Bruno was re-homed. He did not feel that he was capable of helping Bruno overcome some of his issues, or giving him the life and structure he needed.  Bruno was surrendered to me and I will be getting him the help he desperately needs to become a more confident, well-balanced dog and place him in the appropriate home when he is done with his training. 

Bruno was originally placed in a foster home when I thought his owner was taking him back. Unfortunately, due to the fact that Bruno has never been socialized with anyone outside of his immediate family or other dogs, he is extremely uncomfortable in his own skin. After 48 hours he was asked to leave. A friend, rescuer, and trainer, for Our Best Friend Dog Training, had offered to take Bruno in for a board and train at her house ( I have been inside). Since then, he has been neutered, had a full blood workup done, and was microchipped. His trainer will be working with him on his resource guarding issues, as well as socializing him with people and other dogs. She has also agreed to work with the foster/ forever family who takes Bruno in after his training has been completed.
