Bruiser has been a healthy, happy 8-year-old dog until just a few days ago when he suddenly started vomiting and having bloody diarrhea. I rushed him to the vet, and after extensive testing, the results were devastating: Bruiser is suffering from extreme anemia, poor kidney function, an enlarged liver, pancreatitis, and a glucose level over 600. This came as a shock, as Bruiser had shown no signs of diabetes until now. He has been in the hospital for several days, receiving insulin and care, and thankfully, his condition is improving. The vet believes with continued treatment, Bruiser can make a full recovery and live a long, healthy life.
