My name is Brittany, and asking for help is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. Just days ago, my life changed in an instant. I began experiencing unbearable pain that quickly turned into complete numbness from my waist down. I lost feeling in my legs, my bladder, and areas no one ever imagines. After emergency testing, doctors discovered that what was first believed to be bulging discs was actually a ruptured disc that required emergency spine surgery. Although the surgery was performed to relieve the pressure on my nerves, I am still numb and facing an uncertain road to recovery. Right now, no one can tell me exactly how much feeling or function I will regain or how long rehabilitation will take.

 Like so many families, I was already working hard to make ends meet. I work part-time while doing everything I can to support my family. Now I’m unable to work, and my daughter Laila is in her senior year as FFA president and an Honor 4H student. She is an incredible young woman with dreams of becoming a large-animal veterinarian. She has worked hard in school, served as an FFA leader, and has always made me proud. As a mother, all I’ve ever wanted is to make sure she has every opportunity to build the future she’s worked so hard for.

 The funds raised will help cover medical bills and rehabilitation, lost income while I’m unable to work, household expenses and transportation, Laila’s senior year activities (FFA &amp; 4H), ongoing recovery costs not covered by insurance, and provide stability for my daughter while I heal.
