<div>A few days ago, my seven-year-old daughter, Brinley, and I were in a devastating car accident. We were T-boned on Brinley’s side of the car, and the impact has left us both with serious injuries.

<div>Brinley has suffered two fractures in her spine and a spinal cord injury. She recently underwent a major surgery to have a halo placed and will need to stay in the hospital for several months as she heals and begins intensive physical therapy.

<div>I’ve also sustained significant injuries, including a ruptured spleen, broken ribs, a broken bone in my back, and a rotator cuff tear. While trying to recover myself, I also need to care for Brinley and my nine-year-old son, who has been incredibly brave through all of this.

<div>As a teacher, I’ve always worked hard to provide for my family, but teachers don’t make much to begin with. Now, with both Brinley and I facing months of recovery, I will be unable to return to work for the foreseeable future.

<div>We are just starting this long and uncertain journey of healing and recovery. Between medical bills, therapy, and everyday living expenses, we are facing overwhelming financial challenges.
