This Is My Story!

My name is Yvette Brooks Tyler. I am a freelance filmmaker and storyteller. I am preparing to enter a very prestigious film contest and would like your support. I have included a short bio of my work.

Yvette has served as a Freelance Stage Play Writer and Director at a non-profit theater that she founded called Scottie Beans Theatre Productions (2017-present). She has written and produced 10 original stage plays, directed over 100 cast and crew members, managed pre-and post-productions of all shows, and collaborated with actors to create compelling stories.

During the COVID pandemic, she became interested in film and began her quest as a Freelance Film Writer and Producer (2020 to present). Yvette has written and produced 6 short films. Her short “First Stone” (2022) was given the winning title for the Mobile Media category. Her mini short “Sam The Sleepy Driver” was deemed Honorable Mention in the Experimental Forum 2023. Yvette has led arts projects in her community and has excelled in both her professional teaching career, as well as the arts world. She was recently selected to be a judge for the Louisiana Poetry Out Loud State Competition - Spring 2024. She is currently working on mixed media projects to include book publishing and various forms of art. Her film short "3 O'Clock Dad" was a top 20 finalist in 2022.
