On Monday, January 20th, 2025, I received the heartbreaking news from Jamie McTavish that my beloved soul sister, Anka, has passed away unexpectedly while living in a shelter. Anka’s life was not easy, and she faced unimaginable struggles, yet she always fought with strength and resilience.

Anka was born into a life full of hardship, one that many of us could never even begin to imagine enduring. Despite everything, she always found a way to keep going. Over the past few years, Anka has faced profound loss—losing not only her mother but also her brother. Now, with her passing, Anka has made her way to the spirit side, and sadly, there are few people left to help make her final arrangements.

Anka’s sister, Trealas, who is living in British Columbia, is unable to travel due to financial constraints, making it even harder to lay their loved one to rest. This is where we, her friend—myself (Ashley Seniuk) —are asking for your help. We have set up this GoFundMe to raise funds to cover the costs of airfare, gas, and a few other minor expenses, so that Trealas and her son can be there to plan for Anka’s service and bring her home in the way she deserves.
