Help Bring Recreational Activities to Kids in Need

The last few months I have had the opportunity to work at the Jaffa Institute where I volunteered twice a week at the Jaffa Daled After-School Enrichment Center. This center serves children 6-12 years old, primarily from the Ethiopian community, providing them with hot meals and educational support along with recreational enrichment activities such as sports, music, team-building games, and therapy for children that struggle with emotional challenges. 

I have an immense amount of love for this organization now, and want to help raise money to purchase recreational equipment to provide the children with more activities that will keep them from spending time unsupervised.

Our mission is to provide educational, recreational and social enrichment programs to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty found in the communities of Jaffa, South Tel Aviv, and Bat Yam, and support each child's self-esteem so that he/she can evolve into a healthy, educated and productive adult. Through over 40 different initiatives our programs reach 4,000 individuals annually. In 2001, the Institute was awarded the Presidents Prize for Most Outstanding Voluntary Organization and ourBet Shemesh Educational Center, has twice won the Ministry of Education's top prize for academic excellence.
