My name is Vanessa Tampa, and I’m raising funds for my father, who was recently KIDNAPPED by ICE.

Our family is heartbroken and terrified. My dad has lived in this country for over 25 years. This is his home. He has built a life here. Now, he faces the terrifying prospect of being torn away from the only home he has ever known.

On the late morning of Thursday, August 21, 2025, our dad, Pablo Tampa Mendoza, was detained by ICE during a raid at La Cienega Car Wash (1907 S La Cienega Blvd, Los Angeles). Our lives were turned upside down without any warning. A coworker of his contacted me and told me about this tragedy. Since that moment, our family has been overwhelmed with fear and heartbreak. He has had no contact with us. He is now in Adelanto Detention Facility. I have been calling every day to try and make an appointment to be able to go see him. We are doing everything we can to get legal help, but immigration attorneys, living expenses for court appearances, supporting our family while he is detained, and other related fees are incredibly expensive, often thousands of dollars.

My dad does not deserve to go through this alone. He is a kind, loving, and hardworking man. The pain we feel is beyond words. We have no answers — only the determination to bring him back. This is not about politics. It’s about family, love, and fundamental human rights. Every day that passes is another day stolen from us, another day his future remains uncertain.
