<div>My father has always been the backbone of our family, working hard every day to provide for us and make sure we have what we need. On February 17th, everything changed when he was stopped on his way home from work and asked for his license. He doesn’t have one, and because of that, he was taken into custody. Since then, he’s been held by immigration at the Stewart facility, accused of crimes he didn’t commit. My father has never committed a crime—he is a very honest and good man, and everyone who knows him can say the same. It’s so unfair that he’s going through this, especially when he was just coming home from work to his family.

<div> Before being transferred to Stewart, my father was held at Bartow County Jail, where he was mistreated and left without food or water for three days. He has blood pressure issues, and the stress and lack of care nearly caused him to have a heart attack. I have two little brothers who rely on him, and they have been affected tremendously since he was taken from us. It’s been incredibly hard on all of us, especially since he’s the head of our household and the one we rely on most. The uncertainty and fear have been overwhelming, but I have faith that God is going to do something big for my father and our family.
