 My son Eufemio was 14 years old and had a heart full of kindness, joy, and love. He was a happy child who brought light into the lives of everyone who had the blessing of knowing him. He was my best friend, and I feel deeply grateful and blessed to have been able to share his life, his sense of humor, and his beautiful spirit with him.

 On June 10, 2026, our lives changed forever when Eufemio suffered seizures after developing a high fever. I rushed him to Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital, where he received care in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. He was a high school student with a future full of promises, dreams, talents, and so much love to share with the world.

 On July 23, 2026, my beloved son lost his battle with seizures. Our hearts are completely broken, and as a family, we are learning to live with an absence that words cannot describe. The world lost a beautiful soul, but we will forever hold on to the love, laughter, and precious memories he gave us.

 Eufemio will always be remembered as a kind, funny, and loving child, someone who made the world a brighter place simply by being who he was. His smile, his laughter, and his beautiful spirit will remain alive in our hearts forever. The love we have for him is infinite, and he will always be an irreplaceable part of our family.

 Our family’s final wish is to bring my son home to rest in his country of origin, Mexico, so that he can be surrounded by the land, culture, and family connections that are part of his heritage.

 With great humility, we ask for your support in helping us cover the costs of bringing my son home. Any help, act of kindness, or contribution, no matter the amount, will mean more to our family than words can express during this deeply painful time.
