Hello! We are the crew for the short film, "Maladaptive."

Introduction by Writer / Director Cameron Mead:

“Maladaptive” follows Phillip, a lonely theatre director whose quiet night at a bar becomes a journey through memory and grief when he unexpectedly reunites with his old high school friend, Caleb. As the night unfolds, the lines between past and present blur, pulling Phillip into a dreamlike spiral of flashbacks (depicted on stage!), unresolved drama, and forgotten promises.

Told through a blend of realism and theatrical metaphor, “Maladaptive” aims to be a human story about what we hold onto, what we leave behind, and how we grow through heartbreak. It’s about the friendships that shape us— and what happens when they disappear. I wrote this script as a means to explore and understand my own experiences with complicated friendships, as well as hopefully prop up a mirror to the shared experiences of others that prove similar.

Any donations will go towards bringing the script to the screen, paying our actors, and helping feed our cast and crew. All donors will be included in our credits!
