Our journey began with a simple but life-changing decision — to open our hearts and home to “JP”, a bright and kind-hearted 13-year-old boy from Colombia. What started as a month-long hosting experience through the KidSave program quickly blossomed into something deeper: a bond of love and belonging that knows no borders.
During his stay with us, JP brought immense light into our lives. We cooked together, played games, explored our neighborhood, learned from one another, shared countless laughs and hugs, and built memories we now treasure. Saying goodbye was one of the hardest things we've ever done — because in our hearts, we already knew: he is our son.
Why We’re Asking for Your Help
After JP returned to Colombia, we embarked on the journey that would change our lives and JP’s forever — the process of international adoption. With hearts full of hope, we made the decision to give him the chance to grow up in a home full of love, joy, and stability.
This process has been longer and more challenging than we imagined. We’ve faced high legal, medical, and administrative costs — and each step reminds us of the great responsibility we carry to ensure JP joins our family safely and legally. While we've been working hard to cover as much as we can, we still need help to complete this life-changing process.
We’re humbly reaching out to our community, our village — to those who believe in the power of family and the right of every child to grow up surrounded by love. The total cost of completing this international adoption is expected to reach $30,000–$40,000, covering agency fees, travel, legal documents, home study requirements, and post-adoption support. Every donation — no matter how big or small — brings us one step closer to reuniting with JP permanently.
