Help bring Black History to cities around the US
We created the Blank Slate Monument to ignite a dialog about UNITY & INCLUSION, as a monumental counterpoint to the over 1,750 Confederate Monuments that stand tall across the United States. The Blank Slate Monument tour will change the hearts, minds, and lives of all who join us. Story telling through art that will stand in the face of oppression.
The tour debuted in Louisville and continued on to Princeton Indiana, the first stop on the Underground Railroad, Detroit, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Brooklyn, Times Square, Harlem, Washington D.C. and Charlotte, with this gofundme's success, a final stop on this leg of the tour in Atlanta. In each city, we're engaging with locals to interact with the piece via local wifi - these anonymous submissions are immediately visible onto the Blank Slate. At the end of the tour, the collected submissions will be used to create a mosaic of thoughts on racial justice and healing across America.
The more cities we reach, the more uncensored black history we teach. Standing tall in as many cities as possible reclaims the public use of precious space to serve as a voice for Black History. Because of this, we need help from all of you to finance the tour maintenance fees necessary for our message to be shared in our next stop - the Martin Luther King Center in Atlanta, Georgia!
