Help bring Baby H home! Donate to adoption fund

HI, I'm Kristy, Mom to Jessica. Jess is our second born of 4, and, ahem, almost 40 years old. She has always wanted to be a Mom, and has the biggest heart; so I know she'd be an amazing mother. Jess has had a lot of medical issues her whole life, one being Endometriosis lead to hysterectomy, which has rendered her unable to have a child on her own. Her and her husband, Chris, are adopting their first child, an infant from the US. They have completed all paperwork (which took 3 months, $9,000, and background checks galore) , and are awaiting a match to a baby!

We (her family and friends) are asking you to join Jess & Chris on their journey to be parents. As you may know, adoptions are expensive. We ask that you open your hearts... and wallets, to support them in this life long dream of becoming parents. All funds will go directly to offsetting the cost of- consultant fee, home study, agency fee, marketing material, travel costs, hospital costs, and legal fees. And, as always, prayers are welcome.

What would your donations be going towards?

*Consultant fees - $4,200- Consultants are the link between Jess & Chris and agencies, who are in contact with birth families all over the United States. They assist in creating a profile book and adoption profile and are actively engaging with agencies/birth families to help make a match. They will also provide legal assistance and guidance when the time comes for placement.

*Home Study fees- $6,000- This is paid to a separate organization, to basically approve them to be parents. There was 3 months of paperwork including fingerprinting from 3 different federal/state folks, which all take their percentage of money, and other needs to be provided to the consultants and agencies.

*Agency fees- $28,000-$50,000- Once Jess & Chris accept a match, the agency/expectant Mom they are working with will require their fees. These fees are anywhere between $28,000-$50,000 and are separate from any other costs they have paid up until this point. Sometimes, they will have to pay for birth family needs - Depending on the circumstances of the child's birth mother, Jess & Chris may be responsible for some medical and living expenses towards the end of birth Mom's pregnancy.

*Travel expenses - The agency fees DO NOT cover any travel related expenses, so Jess & Chris are expected to pay for plane tickets, accommodations, etc. These tickets likely need to be purchased last minute (They are encouraged not to travel until they receive notice that their birth mother is in active labor).

A note about adoption loans: Since Jess & Chris need to have ALL needed agency funds in place BEFORE they can commit to a match with a birth family, they have received loans to ensure they can say "yes!" when presented with an adoption opportunity. Jess & Chris' loans cover a large portion of their adoption budget. Those loans do not cover travel expenses or items needed for their child. While they have adjusted their budget to allow for loan payments, they are certainly stretching their finances. We are very grateful for any donations that will ease the financial burden for them.

We've designed a 1,000 piece puzzle (below) that will hang in the baby's room. For each $10 in your donation, we'll write your name on the back of a puzzle piece so that our grandchild can see everyone who opened their hearts for our family, and made Jess & Chris' dreams of having their own little family come true. This is a major step in their life.
