Our Adoption Journey. #babyburks

Hello! We are adopting a baby and we need your help! My name is Jermane and my beautiful wife's name is Wendy.  We have been married for almost 11 years and we are still madly in love with one another. Throughout our relationship, we have had dreams of starting a family of our own.  However, due to circumstances outside of our control, we haven't been able to have a child.  It is something that we always think about, and something that we both feel leaves our family incomplete. In January, my wife and I decided that adoption would be a blessing to us and a child that needs a mom and dad of their own.  By connecting with a great adoption agency, we were accepted into the program and have begun our journey to bringing our baby home. This isn't an easy process.  There is a ton of paperwork and it is an incredible test of faith.  We believe that God will provide a way and will give us the strength to get through this journey, even on the worst of days. One of the reasons why the journey is a tough one is the financial aspect of domestic adoption.  While there are many people out there who have loving homes for a child to call their own, those same people have a hard time even wrapping their minds behind just how much a domestic adoption.  Wendy and I were two of those people! But, we decided that the "thought of fear" would not deter us from God's blessing and our dream of starting a family.    It is difficult to even make this page, mainly because asking for donations for such a dream my seem odd or strange to some.  But for us, it is everything that we have dreamed of ever since we said "I do" and vowed before God and family that we would be together forever.  With that, we decided to put our story and our faith out into the world and see if anyone can help make our dream a reality. The funds that you donate will go to help finance our adoption through our agency.  The way that the process works is that we must have 25% of the total adoption fee paid (with an additional $2500.00) before we can begin the home study process.  Once we have completed the home study and are approved by the agency, we then have to pay 50% of the fee paid before we can then be "active" which would allow our profile to be seen by a number of birth mothers who are looking for a loving home for their child.  When a birth mother selects us as the adoptive parents for their child, we would then have to pay the remaining 25% of the adoption fee before we would be able to bring the child home with us, where they would be loved and cared for.   Again, I know that we are asking a lot from those that we know and even strangers, but know that anything you are able to give will be used for a great cause.  Any and all of the funds raised will be used ONLY for adoption fees.  The dollar amount may be larger but the love that we can provide for a child is even bigger and greater than anything behind a dollar sign.   From the bottom of the hearts of Wendy and myself, we thank you for just visiting our page.  If you can donate, we greatly appreciate it.  If you are not able to at the moment, that is perfectly fine as well.  In either case, we ask that you share our page and our story.  I know that with every person that hears about our journey, the closer we are to bringing our baby home!
