Brielle Taifa Webb is a brilliant actress, driven scholar, and, above all, a remarkable human being. She is defined by her compassion and generosity for others. The time has come for us to offer her that same love that she is so willing to pour out for those around her.
Over this past holiday, her financial circumstances shifted considerably and she is no longer be able to pursue the dreams that she has already worked so hard for.
One year ago, Brielle endured a grueling audition process for college BFA programs. She spent hours upon hours composing applications for top academic institutions, the individual programs within the universities, all while preparing an enormous arsenal of audition material to share with these schools. At the end of this process, she was offered spots in not just one, but multiple top-ranking programs. While exciting opportunities were available at each prospective school, her final decision was based on finances.
Brielle matriculated to the prestigious University of Minnesota / Guthrie Theater BFA Actor Training Program. This program is a collaboration between a Big Ten research institution and one of the most accredited regional theaters in the country. 1400 students applied to this program in the 2019 audition cycle. Brielle is one of 17 members of the first-year company. The numbers speak for themselves. She is remarkable.
In her classwork thus far, she has exhibited fierce dedication, unparalleled professionalism, and brilliance that transcends pure intellect. Her professors have noted her "leadership and positive problem solving" skills within the company, while commending the "expressivity and exuberance" in her work. Above all, however, they praised the growth that Brielle has made within just one semester. Needless to say, it would be an atrocity to stop her now.
While $7,000 just scratches the surface of what would need to paid in the coming years, it ensures one more semester for Brielle to continue her studies. In that semester, Brielle will have the time she needs to find other financial alternatives for the remaining three years.
Please take a moment to support one of the most compassionate young actors in this industry. Your funds will go to advance the career of a true artist and activist.
Brielle has done the work. Brielle has pushed past countless obstacles. And Brielle has proven that she is more than capable to excel post-graduation. It's up to us to get her to that point.
