In July 2018, Brian was rushed to the hospital after collapsing from a seizure. This is when doctors discovered a brain tumor in his left temporal lobe. Within weeks, the tumor grew significantly and Brian had to undergo surgery to get it removed. After the pathology results came back, it was determined to be an aggressive malignant tumor: Glioblastoma Multiforme, stage 4. Doctors scheduled him to begin Phase 1 of treatment: 6 weeks of radiation and chemotherapy in September/October. After a month off to let his body rest, Brian will begin Phase 2 of treatment: A more advanced round of chemotherapy for the next 6 months at least. Additional treatments and therapy not covered/partially covered by insurance are also being considered pending blood work & MRI results.
In the blink of an eye, this diagnosis has changed our lives forever. Unfortunately, insurance does not cover the entirety of his surgery and treatment, and this is why we need your help. No amount is too little. Our hope is that through your donations it will help fund Brian’s trips to the hospital, surgery, and ongoing testing & treatment costs not covered by insurance.
Still, through this devastating news, Brian feels blessed to have the opportunity to fight this thing, to be surrounded by the love and support of friends and family and to have access to the medical resources he needs to beat this. With your support, we hope to kick Cancer’s ass!
