Help Bree Jordan Fight Breast Cancer

Hello!  I'm Andrea, one of Steve and Bree's best friends and I'm posting this on behalf of Steve and Bree's entire family.

Dear friends and family, we first want to thank you all for the support you’ve given the “Jordos” this past year. Your love, prayers, and positive energy have lifted this family up and given them the strength to keep fighting Bree’s cancer. We had hoped we wouldn’t have to, but we are now asking for immediate financial support as Bree’s treatment in Canada is not working and a newly approved drug in Bellingham, Washington is her last hope for beating this very aggressive form of breast cancer.

The drug, which is currently only available in the US, is extremely expensive and is not covered by any medical plan. Bree has been approved to begin receiving this drug and needs to start this life saving medicine as soon as possible, so we are under a significantly tight timeline to raise enough money to get her started.

The past year has been tough for many of you so we deeply appreciate any amount you can contribute.

Bree’s Cancer Journey

On November 18, 2019, at the young age of 35, Breanne (Bree) Jordan was diagnosed with Stage 3C Triple Negative Breast Cancer – one of the most aggressive and difficult to treat types of breast cancer.

Bree and Steve found one of the best oncologists in Vancouver, who helped Bree immediately begin chemotherapy. The first few treatments went smoothly, and the results initially looked promising. However, the secondary type of chemotherapy required for this specific breast cancer was not effective and Bree’s cancer began to rapidly grow back.

Bree’s doctors stopped the ineffective chemotherapy and conducted an emergency mastectomy on April 14, 2020, to remove the growing tumor. Bree opted for an aggressive axillary node dissection in order to give herself the best chance of removing all of the cancer. As soon as she was healed from her surgery, Bree underwent twenty-five rounds of radiation. It was an exhausting spring, physically and emotionally, but Bree and Steve remained hopeful. In July, Bree’s PET scan showed no evidence of disease. Bree, however, was not willing to take any chances of her cancer returning and started taking oral chemotherapy to lessen her chances of a recurrence even further.

Bree went into her next PET scan in October 2020 with renewed hope for a clean bill of health. Sadly, Bree and Steve were devasted to learn the scan showed evidence of disease in lymph nodes on the opposite side of Bree’s neck, deeming her cancer Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer. Through the diligence of her oncologist, Bree was able to receive an immunotherapy trial drug on a compassionate basis. However, after three months of immunotherapy, Bree’s most recent PET scan on February 17, 2021 showed progression of the disease to other areas of her body. Bree’s doctors have exhausted all treatment options available in Canada.

This is where we now desperately need your help. Bree’s oncologist has recommended a new drug that has shown positive results for patients with Metastatic Triple Negative Breast Cancer that has not responded to other lines of treatment. This drug was approved last year in the US by the FDA but has not yet been approved in Canada. Receiving medical treatment in the US is extremely costly for foreigners, we don’t want lack of funding to prohibit Bree from receiving the treatment that she so desperately needs.

Bree is undeniably a fighter. She has faced her cancer battle with unfaltering determination. She has everything to live for: Steve, her amazingly supportive and loving husband of six years (though, they’ve been together for 12), and Levi, their adorable 3-year-old son who is the absolute love of her life. Bree is an extraordinary human being and a devoted wife and mother. All she wants to do is watch her son grow up. Bree said herself, “Having cancer is just unacceptable. I have a baby to raise and a whole life to live.”

Please help us remove this financial barrier for Bree and Steve, by donating any amount you can. Every little bit helps. Even taking the time to share Bree’s story on your social media would be a help to her and her family.

Thank you all for the love and support you've shown Bree and Steve over this past year. We can't thank you enough.
